Sitting for extended
periods has been linked to a host of health problems, including cancer and
cardiovascular disease. Now there's another reason to get up from your desk:
piles. That's right, sitting too long increases the risk of Piles and can even
make them worse if you already have them.

Piles is a very common
problem these days, specially among men due to their sedentary lifestyles.
People who do not exercise regularly are more likely to develop piles because
the veins of the anus become weak and dilated as a result of sitting for long
periods of time. This condition causes pressure on your rectum and causes swelling
in it which results in pain or discomfort while passing stool.
Piles can be prevented
if you keep moving around frequently during the day and avoid sitting for too
long at one time. You should also try to maintain a healthy diet that includes
plenty of fiber to help ensure regular bowel movements. Fiber helps soften
stool so that it moves through your intestines more easily, preventing constipation
as well as Piles by preventing straining when passing stools (which can lead to
bleeding).
