The word hemorrhoid comes from the
Greek word "haemorrhoids," which means "blood-filled
veins." It is most frequent in people between the ages of 45 and 65.
Hemorrhoids that have enlarged within
and around the lining of your buttocks, or anal lining, are known as piles.
After a few days, they normally improve on their own. Hemorrhoids can be
prevented and treated in a variety of ways.
What creates piles is still a
mystery. Hemorrhoids are caused by a buildup of pressure in the blood arteries
that feed the anus and rectum, causing them to enlarge.
Hemorrhoids have no recognised cause.
Constipation, the increased pressure on the blood vessels during pregnancy and
continued weight gain, chronic diarrhoea and extended sitting on the toilet,
and straining to carry heavy things are only a few of the reasons that cause
haemorrhoids. They may go away in 1-2 weeks, but if you have chronic symptoms
like rectal bleeding, you should see a doctor right once.
A few people have
complained of itching and pain. It is not usually accompanied by symptoms like
as discomfort and rectal bleeding.
