Whole wheat powder, that is Atta is routine diet content of Indian culture. Since history period it has been stated in our ancient text which was beneficial for digestion and health. Also along with this whole wheat aata there is lot of use of corn flour, jawar flour, bajra flour in Indian dietWhen our Indian food culture is badly impacted by Western culture then some changes happen. Routinely in hotels and some Western dishes there was unlimited use of maida. Also some of our Indian dishes are also been modified by use of maida.
This was actually start of digestive problems by use of wheat instead of full wheat aata.
In recents period many patients are diagnosed with gluten intolerance. That is stickiness of maida causes indigestion and other symptoms.
All this stickiness causes problems of constipation. Hence, in patients related with indigestion, bloating abdomen, are habitual of eating bread, bakery ietems etc.
It takes long time to get digest due to stickiness of maida as it is lack of fibre.
In comparison with whole wheat maida has low nutrition like protein, fibres, also some quantity of minerals and vitamins.
Maida is low on fiber because the fibres are separated in the production process. So increase blood sugar level.
Whole wheat is reach with goodness of bran and fiber therefore it is healthy.Also it Stabilizes the blood glucose levels.
Maida is refined flour with all the bran removed.
But unfortunately all delicious bakery ietems and hotel products are made up maida due to low cost.
While treating anorectal diseases one has to concentrate on in digestion and constipation. so this is one of the cause of indigestion and these maida products should be avoided as a precaution to avoid piles fissure fistula and also after post operative care.
If it is not avoided then the problems like constipation piles and other anorectal diseases are invitable.
