The Hemorrhoids is a vein that swells along the inside of the anus and rectum. They may be caused by tension during defecation. Hemorrhoids Symptoms include bleeding during defecation, itching and irritation of the anus, swelling around the anus, stool leakage, pain and discomfort. Certain foods can irritate Hemorrhoids and should be avoided to reduce or control symptoms.
Foods to avoid include:
Dairy Products - Dairy products such as milk and cheese promote constipation and exacerbate hemorrhoids. Dairy products do not cause constipation by themselves, but contribute to constipation discomfort during hemorrhoids development. Dairy products can also cause gas production and, if already constipated, contribute to pain and cramps.
Salty Foods - Excessive salt slows the digestive system and makes bowel movement more painful. In addition, the accumulation of salt in the blood can cause bloating, which makes the swollen hemorrhoids worse and more sensitive. Limiting salt intake during hemorelapse reduces pain.
White Flour - This wheat flour is free of bran and germ and has a reduced fiber quality. Products made from this type of flour include white bread, pasta and bagels.
Processed Meat - These foods, such as Bologna and other cold cuts, increase the risk of constipation because they are low in fiber and high in sodium.
Fried Foods - Deep-fried foods contain a lot of unhealthy oils and fats, and they are heavy and difficult to digest. These fats cause inflammation and serious damage to the intestinal wall. This will make existing hemorrhoids worse and become larger and more sensitive. Always avoid irritating foods during hemorrhoids relapse.
Spicy Foods - Spicy food can increase the pain and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids.
Caffeinated Beverages - These beverages, especially coffee, can make the stool harder and more difficult to use the toilet.
Alcohol - Like caffeinated beverages, alcoholic beverages can dry the stool and exacerbate pile discomfort.
Doctors recommend eating more foods high in fiber. Eating foods high in dietary fiber will soften and pass stools, helping to treat and prevent hemorrhoids. Drinking water and other liquids (such as fruit juices and clear soups) can help improve the function of dietary fiber.
